I developed the philosophy of the Triple-Win and it has served me well. We are all connected in one way or another and, with the creation of the first web client and server in 1990, a world-wide paradigm shift continues to dramatically change the way business is conducted and people connect. My goal is to help be a part of the ultimate development of one-to-one digital customer service. What sets me apart from many is I bring customer focus, metrics and business "bottom line" to the equation. CURRENT POSITION AND MAIN PASSION:
eGov and Online Services Manager at Maryland Department of Natural Resources

REAL ESTATE PASSION Have broad experience in many areas from minor subdivisions, commercial property, apartments and raw land. My Dad got me started at age 13. One of my early role models was Steve Wynn, once a Marylander and now a Casino legend. MAKING A DIFFERENCE @FiveBelow helps give comfort to family In need GIVING BACK In 2010 I made my first significant effort at giving back to help others. Read the Habitat For Humanity Choptank Press Release. In 2011 I was involved in the statewide effort of the Maryland Charity Campaign (a division of United Way of Central Maryland). Major changes were implemented through initiatives I championed, including connecting with donors through email communications, website enhancements, complete change in "Thank You" premiums given to donors and online auctions. We raised $3,400,000 in donations for the campaign ending early in 2012. In 2011 I joined the Board of Directors of the Scenic Rivers Land Trust. In 2012 I found a new friend by the name of Glenn Watkins (@GlennWatkins) in London who championed a fundraising effort for Tom Perivolas. Tom is 24 and had been studying at Nottingham Trent University, when tragically a terrible accident down some stairs in October 2011 left him paralyzed. I had the honor and priviledge of helping to promote and fundraise. We raised over £100,000 from 947 people from around the world. Thanks to these generous donations a living space with the right equipment will be created to enable Tom to enjoy a future life that is independent and fulfilling. For more details on how Social Media is really making a difference read Glenn's blog. In late 2013 I formed the "Deems Digital Founation" for the purpose of creating a fund with which to assist charitable non-profits (501(c)3) to become more efficient and better fundraisers through use of technology. The intent is to build a large enough fund to grant yearly grants to organizations needing help. Hopefully this will really make a difference in the world and help thousands of people. The foundation will last for decades after I'm gone. Currently I'm on the The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County's team as a volunteer working on a 24-hour online giving campaign slated for May 15-16 which has the potential to benefit over 61 charities based in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The Great Give! Have a charity or project you would like me to consider working on? You'll never know unless you ask. So now you know 10% of who I am and what interests me.
